Southport

Good morning all!

Just a quick one before I get ready to head out for the day. A couple more photos from my family trip to Southport before Crimbo. Here's what I wore on day 2!

It's my new Kurt Geiger shoes again, I said you'd be seeing them a lot! My black jumper with the lace collar is from Primark, Jamie jeans from Topshop and my striped backpack is from Accessorize.

It was a wee bit chilly up in Southport, so I thought polka dot socks were best.

My Aunty and Uncle have the biggest household Christmas Tree I have ever seen. It was the perfect back drop for our family photo.

This is payback for my brother who was my photographer for that weekend. He likes to mess around and zoom right into my face and take the most unflattering shots. What he keeps forgetting is that I get to pick which photos make it on to the blog!!

HELP

HelloGoodbye

I'm in a Beatles mood (when am I not?!) Here's something a little inspired by a certain album cover...

These photo's were taken just before my family road trip to Southport to visit my Aunty, Uncle and cousins, where we decorated their massive Christmas tree - told you I had catching up to do with my outfit posts! This fun Anchor Print Cape Hoodie is from Oasap - I love it!! I've paired it with a stripey long sleeved top from New Look, my Peace sign Tiffany necklace, red tartan skirt by F&F at Tesco and my new favourite shoes!

These are the beauties I got from the Elle X Kurt Geiger shopping evening. They're called Louis and are by Carvela. I love their boyish charm, expect to see plenty more of these bad boys! If anyone still has their 25% off voucher from Elle magazine (which expires at the end of this month!!), I highly recommend these shoes, which are also available in brown.

My sweet little cousin has set up a fashion Instagram filled with awesome photos, including one or two you may recognise :) be sure to check it out and follow!

Thanks for reading. Don't be shy, come talk to me, I don't bite!

Golden Globes 2014 Red Carpet Favourite

Evening!

Awards season is upon us, starting with the Golden Globes. After spending the best part of 2 hours looking through all of the red carpet photos (and there was a hell of a lot!), I have picked my personal top 10 girls (in no particular order) and my man of the evening. Enjoy!

1. Zooey Deschanel

I love the contrast of the soft and neutral colours with the almost spiky texture. I'm a big fan of Zooey's wardrobe, both on screen and off, and she certainly hasn't disappointed.

2. Julie Bowen

I adore this colour combination, it probably shouldn't work, but it does! The puffed sleeves are super cute.

3. Dame Helen Mirren

Dame Helen looks like a green Goddess in this number. Such a gorgeous colour and it fits her so perfectly.

4. Allison Williams

We all know I love my stripes, so of course I was going to love this! The crossed shoulder straps make it that much more interesting.

5. Cate Blanchett

This is a beautifully classic look from Cate. I especially love her hair, oh so Hollywood.

6. Rebecca Ferguson

Apparently there's a saying 'blue and green should never be seen unless there's a colour inbetween'. I think Rebecca proves you shouldn't trust everything you hear. Wonderful shape!

7. Michelle Dockery

This is a beautifully elegant look from Michelle. The dipped hemline adds a modern touch.

8. Lena Dunham

This dress is big, the colour is bold and Lena is beautiful! She really stood out in a sea of black dresses. I absolutely love that she's not afraid to get noticed.

9. Joanna Newsom

This is such a fun look from Joanna. I really admire the over-the-top frills, but when you're dating Andy Samberg, you won't be boring!

10. Sally Hawkins

Sally looks so sweet and pretty in pink. Her look has a slight 60's feel to it which I LOVE!

Man of the Night - Alex Ebert

This may seem like an odd choice, but I do like my men a little different and Alex is anything but ordinary! He's wearing a wonderful waistcoat and just check out that Peter Pan collar! My Mother is probably slightly worried about the next boyfriend I bring home...

I hope you enjoyed my picks. These are just my own personal favourites, so obviously some of you will disagree. I'd love to know who your favourites were!

Strangers On A Train

So, a while back, I managed to bag 2 invites from Elle to celebrate 50 years of Kurt Geiger and to also launch their new B-Series Collection. I already had a theatre date arranged with Kev, so we decided to check out the party before hand. Here's what I wore.

Both the dress and cardigan are goodies I got from a SwapAholicsUK clothing swap. Lucky for you London lot, there's another one happening this very Saturday!! The dress is originally from Matalan and the cardi from Monsoon, though I think it's slightly shrunk in the wash but I can just about still squeeze into it.

At the Elle X Kurt Geiger night, we were welcomed to champagne and home made giant retro biscuits (custard creme anyone?). There was also a marvellous 25% off for everyone, so me and Kev did some shopping!

I bought some lovely loafers which you'll probably get to see in my next post!

After we were happy with our purchases and a belly full of champers, we headed to the theatre to see Strangers On A Train. The film version by Hitchcock features one of my favourite actors Farley Granger. Though we were told the play is based more on the book, which I am yet to read.

Hope everyone is getting back into their routines after the holidays! Thanks for reading :)

Pattern Clash

Hello everyone!

Quite possibly my favourite thing at the moment is pattern clashing. Today's outfit combines 2 patterns I wear the most; stripes and tartan.

My tartan skirt is from Forever 21 and my navy plimsolls are from Peacocks. The best thing about this tartan skirt is that it features a lot of colours in the pattern. I've got an outfit idea I'd like to try involving yellow tights...

The stripey long sleeve top is from Primark. I love the lace collar. I also have it in plain black, keep a look out for it on the blog soon!

People can be a little sceptical about pattern clashing, I know I was at first. If you want to play it a bit safer, go for patterns that feature the same colours.

Be sure to keep a look out over on my eBay as I'll be adding some items over the next couple of days, including my trusty duffle coat. Will be sad to see it go, so someone give it a nice new home!

Playing Catch Up

Hello and Happy New Year!!

Now that the excitement of my birthday, Christmas and New Year is all out of the way, I can get back to blogging!! I have ALOT of outfit photos to catch up on. This one was taken before New Years, before Christmas, even before my birthday!!

My new favourite tartan suit. The blazer was a Salvation Army charity shop find, originally from Primark. My trousers, or 'slacks' as they're called on the site, are from H&M. They're slightly thicker than most of my other trousers so they're perfect for the weather this type of year. I thought I'd try out some pattern clashing with my stained glass window peplum top from ASOS. It has pockets, which really excites me! My buckled shoes are from New Look and the boat socks were a present from my parents last Christmas.

Sorry the photo quality isn't the greatest. I think I need some more practice with my new camera.

I hope you all had a very merry Crimbo and a wonderful New Year!
