Christmas 2014 - Outfit of the Day

Happy holidays!!
So, how was everyone's Christmas? I hope Santa visited and left you all some wonderful surprises!

I'm gonna share with you all a quick post featuring my Crimbo outfit. Be warned, there's also a lot of cute kitty photos too!

My Santa jumper you may have seen before. I picked it up from Beyond Retro's Christmas jumper pop-up shop. A very rare thing happened when I bought this vintage jumper - I found another one exactly the same! Keep reading and you'll see who I gave the other one to.

Remember my trip to Seven Dials where I tried on this lush skirt? I only went and won it didn't I!! This golden beauty is from Bolongaro Trevor, the people also behind All Saints. I fell in love with it after spotting it in their shop window. It arrived just in time for my work Christmas party, and I decided to give it another spin on Christmas day.

I completed my look with my Mother's vintage bronze leaf brooch worn as a necklace, and my black leather lace up shoes from Clarks.

Unfortunately my Mum was working on Christmas day, so we had to wait for her to return before we could open any presents. This gave me lots of photoshooting time with London the cat. I'm considering making his own Tumblr - he's so photogenic!

I hope you've all had a lovely festive season and wish you all a Happy New Year! I'll leave you with me and my Nan in matching vintage jumpers :)

Christmas Tree Decorating with Family - Outfit of the Day

Happy Christmas Jumper Day!! (For yesterday). 2 weeks ago, Me and the bro took a trip up to Southport to help decorate our Aunty and Uncle's mahoosive Christmas Tree. This is a big family tradition with our cousins and all 6 of their collective children joining in. Some of my long-running readers may remember my trip last year. I thought this was the perfect occasion to show off my new Christmas jumper!

I'm wearing yet another Crimbo jumper from Beyond Retro (remember dear old Santa? I went back and found him!). They've slashed all their Christmas jumpers to half price, so if you missed out on getting one for Christmas Jumper Day, fret not as there is still time to grab one in time for Christmas Day! Yet again I've paired it with my tartan skirt from Forever 21. This skirt has seen me through the last few Winters, and it doesn't look like it'll be stopping any time soon! My vintage brown Bally boots I bought from Absolute Vintage. Finally, my coat is from Joy The Store, and seeing me through a 2nd winter. It's still available, and now with over 50% off! If you're looking for something a bit brighter, this year they've brought it out in this vibrant red!

Now back to the family festivities. I'd heard that one of my cousins was a fan of my blog. So I told her to get on her favourite outfit and I'd feature her on here. So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Alisha!

Alisha gave me a tour of their little beach hut den at the bottom of her Nan and Grandad's garden. How cute is it?! We all know I love anything nautical (there's a reason I'm a Captain...) so I've instantly decided this will be my own little hideaway the next time I visit. The kids all helped with the decor - style seems to run in the family ;) Alisha is wearing a Select floral dress, Primark pop socks and black Vans trainers.

After the tour, we went back inside to help with the Christmas decorations.

It was a great day with all the family getting involved. My cousin Cherye even made some delicious mint chocolate fudge for the occasion!

The next day, me and my brother had 2 hours for a little walk around the Albert Docks in Liverpool before we had to catch our train back to London. Of course I visited The Beatles shop!

A big thank you to Aunty Cheryl and Uncle Tommy for letting us stay, and to all the cousins for letting us join in with this family tradition. See you all next year!!

Do you have any family Christmas traditions? I would love to hear about them. Leave a comment below :)

Thanks for reading!

Seven Dials Christmas Shopping Evening - Outfit of the Day

Earlier this week I popped along to Seven Dials in Covent Garden with fellow blogger (and new BFF!) Angelica AKA One Little Vice. This night was very special as it was Seven Dials annual Christmas Shopping Evening, where all the shops offer 20% off, plus free drinks and snacks. This seemed like the perfect occasion to wear my latest festive jumper purchase!

This funky jumper was one of my Black Friday purchases from Beyond Retro. I just love the bright colours and collar detail. I paired it with my Forever 21 tartan skirt, vintage Chelsea boots, green socks and added some sparkle with my glittery satchel from Paperchase.

I took some time in my lunch break with a work colleague to take these quick outfit photos. I walk past this pathway everyday and have been wanting to use it as a backdrop on the blog for a while. It kind of feels like the dividing line between Autumn and Winter with the trees still covered with golden leaves on one side, and the bare branches on the other.

Now, skip ahead a few hours to Seven Dials!

The first place we stopped by was The Seeker. They handed out fresh meat, cheese & bread along with glasses of wine whilst we walked around the store taking in the wonderful classic footwear designs.

Next up was a quick stop at Orla Kiely. One of my favourite designers, I could quite happily live in anything she makes. How lovely are the light bulb signs in the shop window? I love everything about this shop, even the floor boards feature the pretty Orla Keily stem print. A few days after this evening, I wore the very same jumper with a very sparkly Orla Kiely skirt for the #BloggersXmasParty.

Last but not by no means least, we visited Bolongaro Trevor, just so I could try on this festive looking skirt that I spotted in the shop window. This is definitely going on my Christmas wishlist!

Be sure to check out Angelica's even better write up of our evening over on her blog!

Seven Dials don't just hold these special shopping nights for Christmas. They do them every couple of months so be sure to sign up to hear about the next one!
