What a weekend! If you’re following me over on Instagram, you’ll have seen I spent a couple of days in Edinburgh, so this week’s highlights have been particularly difficult to whittle down to just 5. I’ll have lots of posts on my trip coming to the blog soon, but for now, see some of my best bits.
Backstage at The O2
Last Wednesday evening I was lucky enough to be invited as Milly’s +1 to an exclusive backstage tour of The O2. I’ve been to countless gigs at the domed venue, so it was great to see what it looks like behind the scene. I’ll have a full post soon!
As you already heard, I spent this weekend in Edinburgh with James. We were there to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. It was my 1st ever trip to Scotland so you can imagine my excitement. We treated ourselves to a fab room at the very hip Stay Central Hotel for our 1st night. Upon arrival we were told we had been upgraded to an executive suite! We decided to make the most of it and ordered room service in the form of pizza, a burger and haggis topped chips. Full report on our stay coming soon!
Morning city views
For our remaining 3 nights, we went for more of a budget stay at the just as comfortable Travelodge in Haymarket. We had a top floor room with amazing views. It was a beautiful sight first thing in the morning, even in the rain.
We took a long walk over to Leith where we climbed aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, a big swanky ship owned by the Royal Family. I was obviously in my element!
After scouring Instagram for ideas of where we should venture in Edinburgh, I knew we just had to find Dean Village. Lucky for us it wasn’t too far from our hotel so it was our last stop before we picked up our suitcases and headed to the airport. Dean Village is made up of a few cute, quaint streets surrounding the river on the west side of the city. It’s an instagrammer’s dream!
Check out last week’s post.
I have decided that this will be my last Hump Day High 5. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed putting these together, but I’ve got quite the backlog of posts that I really want to get up on the blog. Who knows, one day I might bring my weekly series back, but for now, this’ll be the last. A big thank you to those that have read them 🙂
