#GlamClamMeatSlam

I don’t get a work Christmas do this year, but that’s cool, because I was invited to something even better – a bloggers Christmas party all thanks to Santander and their new app KiTTi! Although a few of us had trouble with the app, it was actually incredibly handy as they send you a physical plastic card once all funds are in the account. You can then use this card just like a normal debit/credit card, which was very convenient when it came to paying our bill for 10 people. It can also be used when ordering online and paying over the phone.

So, how do 10 bloggers plan and celebrate their own Christmas do? Food and a drag show at The Glam Clam, of course!

Meat and cocktails was the name of the game, and Q Grill in Camden was our chosen place. First up was a sweet Raspbarretto cocktail whilst I perused the menu. I started off light with a butternut squash hummus with feta, pumpkin seeds and toasted pitas. For mains, it was buttermilk fried chicken in a bun with bbq sauce, and a side of sweet potato wedges with a spice maple syrup sauce. These wedges were so soft and fluffy. This main was such great value for money (£12.50) as the side comes with the bun! My second cocktail of the night was the Georgia cobbler, light, fruity and utterly delicious. We had no time for dessert as we had a show to get to!

We arrived at The Dome in Tufnell Park, the venue for The Glam Clam. I even had my very own glam clam bag. Welcomed by waiters holding trays of champagne, this felt very glam indeed! That was only the beginning, as the evening performances started with the very glamorous Collette Cooper, backed by a fantastic band made up of Ronnie Scott’s jazz musicians. One by one the fabulous Drag Queens of the evening started making their entrance, walking around the venue, stopping to chat to guests. At one point I was offered poppers by one, material fastener poppers… I love how each Queen had a different look. Some were utterly beautiful, some were beautifully weird, and others were weirdly unique. There were dramatic eyebrows, gorgeous wigs, and even a glittered beard!

Comedy, music, dancing, and my favourite blogging babes (not to mention some new gals I’d not had the pleasure of meeting before) – What. A. Night! Thank you Glam Squad for a truly unforgettable evening, and thank you Santander for helping with our amazing night!

[clockwise from top left] Charlie, Collette Cooper, Claire, Yours Truly, Emsy, Erica, Milly, Katy, Ashleigh and Tasha. We were also joined by Angela was also with us for dinner.
