Happy Wednesday and welcome back to my Hump Day High 5!
I was invited along as Erica’s +1 to Belgo Holborn’s reopening launch night as they’d recently undergone a revamp. We had a fab night sampling their new menu, which included mussels in 2 ways, lobster, and of course waffles, all washed down with a variety of Belgian beers, and also a special Mojito made with strawberry Fruji beer. I’ll have a full post on the evening here on the blog soon!
Bangarang were out in full force Thursday night, well almost, we were missing 2 of our squad. It was a night filled with beers, cakes, art, more beers and burgers. We’d been invited to Lumas Gallery for the launch of Art Now, a collection of postcard-sized photographs to give or collect. They’ve got some pretty neat stuff, including kissing Storm Troopers and animal royalty. they’re also really easy to display with built-in hooks, magnets and an acrylic desk stand, so you can show them off as you wish. As Bangarang is slowly growing in numbers, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get us all in one place at the same time, but in the name of art we managed 8!
Breakfast @ The Henry Root
Emerald Street are currently offering 2-for-1 brunch vouchers to be used at various places, so this was the perfect excuse for a much needed catch-up with Nuraan. We decided to go to The Henry Root as we’d also managed to score some free tickets to Frock Me’s vintage fair which was taking place nearby. The food at The Henry Root was absolutely delicious, and I had quite possibly THE best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! Read my full review here!
Monday night was our pancake day as both us had other plans on Tuesday. I popped to Morrisons and stocked up on flour, eggs, milk and plenty of toppings. We had mozzarella, fried eggs, tuna, mayo & sweetcorn for savouries, followed by Reese’s, Lotus Biscoff and Fluff spreads. I was quite proud of my pancake flipping abilities, James was even impressed!
World Pizza Day at Sway!
Last night was another reopening in Holborn (and another night with some Bangarang ladies!), this time at Sway. We were treated to a lesson in cocktails and champagne along with pizzas, cheesy croquettes and watermelon salads. The guys at Sway also gave us an exclusive tour of the newly refurbished club downstairs, which includes a selfie room!! I’ll have a full post coming soon! Thanks to Charlie for the photo.
