Ahoy, and welcome to another Hump Day High 5! This time next week (fingers crossed!) I’ll be writing my HDH5 from my new bedroom!! Here’s what I’ve been up to, in between packing, over the last 7 days.
Reunited and it feels so good!
My dear friend Julie, who I haven’t seen in 4 years (!), was making a pit stop in London before heading to Edinburgh. We started our night with hot cocktails in the Wigwam up on the rooftop of the Queen of Hoxton. You may remember my trip up here back in November. Our warm toddies were followed by fish (battered sausage for me) & chips at Poppies. I love this place and it’s vintage vibe, with photos around the walls of old Hollywood stars and the waitresses in their oh-so cute matching outfits. Overall we had a lovely evening of catching up on each other’s lives and reminiscing about old times in London.
The Rock Off Challenge
Friday night was a big night as my housemate had organised a gig at The Pipeline. James’s band, Red Hook, had been selected to play, so I had to be doubly supportive! I’d been given the task of live tweeting and instagramming the evening’s event. I was basically their social media manager 😉 The gig was a rock off challenge between Red Hook and fellow heavy metallers With A Vengeance. It was a close call, but the Red Hook boys only went and won it!! I’m incredibly proud of James and the boys, and Tony & Kiran, who have started their our music promotion business, Tone Key Entertainment. Be sure to keep update with upcoming gigs through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
Over the weekend, I took a trip down to James’s local area. We had some delicious grub at El Bandito in Sidcup. The best part was definitely getting to wear big Mexican hats. It’s impossible to not be happy in a giant sombrero!
We had a pre-theatre facestuff at MEATliquor on Monday. Kinda sucks that the lighting is so low in this place as it’s impossible to get a decent photo, but on the other hand the low lighting is great as you will make a mess, and boy did I make a mess! I had juicy, cheesy goodness dripping all down my hands, wrists and all over my mouth. It was soooo good. Just what I was craving.
The End of Longing
After cleaning up my greasy mits, we took a brisk walk down to the Playhouse Theatre (popping in to The Sherlock Holmes for a cheeky pint) where we had tickets to see The End of Longing. This play stars Friends star Matthew Perry, who also wrote it. I really enjoyed it! It had a well-balanced storyline which was quite intense but also very funny. We were both far too giddy with the excitement of being in the same room as Chandler Bing!!
So that was my week. Show me your favourite moments over the last 7 days by using #HumpDayHigh5 across Twitter and Instagram!
See what I got up to in last week’s Hump Day High 5!
