Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and binged on as much chocolate as I did!! Here’s what I’ve been up to over the past 7 days.
Thursday night I finally took James to my favourite place in London – Arts Theatre Club. Whenever I feel like partying, this is my number 1 spot! The music is fab (think Blondie, Bowie and The Smiths) and they do delicious cocktails in fancy teapots. We had a little bit of celebrating to do too as my boy gots himself a new job. Cocktails all round!
Good Friday we took a trip back to my hometown of Luton where I showed James the ‘sights’. These sights being the Wetherspoons pub and the bowling alley, where we had a game and some drinks with a couple of my old school friends. The main attraction of visits back home is always my Mum’s cats. London took quite a liking to my Dad’s Venice souvenir!
For lent this year, and just like every other year, I gave up chocolate. By 00:01 on Sunday (actually Saturday night whilst at a house party) I had already scoffed 2 Crème Eggs, and I have not stopped since! We got home around 4:30am and I had a chocolate fudge brownie before bed. For breakfast the following morning I had a chocolate, peanut butter and banana milkshake. Sunday and Monday consisted of chocolate scoffing in between family lunches and games. Even now, as I type this, I’m unwrapping mini Oreo filled chocolate eggs. Tonight I go back to gym* where I’ll probably munch on a Twix whilst on the cross trainer!
*I did not go back to the gym – surprise surprise!
Easter Sunday fun & games!
Easter Sunday I was invited over to James’s Grandparents for food, drink and fun & games. There was an Easter egg hunt, Spring chick sewing and a music quiz. I was absolutely stuffed, full of pasta, chicken, rice, and, of course, chocolate! James’s cousin had made these scrumptious chocolate cake pops. I must have eaten about 5, and that was after I’d eaten a big chunk of his Nan’s chocolate ice cream cake dessert!
Easter Monday was spent with some of my family doing much of the same as Sunday; food & games. My cousin Anne has recently moved over to London from Ireland. She made a lovely lasagne for lunch. Me and James were in charge of hiding nearly 100 chocolate eggs, of all sizes, around the garden for the kids to hunt before the rain hit (again!). We also got into teams for a Trivial Pursuit quiz, which included a fun Disney round at the end!
So that was my week. Show me your favourite moments over the last 7 days by using#HumpDayHigh5 across Twitter and Instagram!
