Here’s this week’s Hump Day High 5.
We Are Scientists @ Koko Camden
We Are Scientists are one of my all-time favourite bands. Tickets for their gigs are like a 2-for-1 as not only do you get the brilliant live music, but you also get some fun comedy in between the songs. These guys are funny, like hilarious, and awesome. I mean one of their tour t-shirts features a cat smoking a cigarette! I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen these guys (6, maybe 7?) but I’m already looking forward to seeing them again, whenever that may be!
Footloose @ The New Wimbledon Theatre Peanut Butter Milkshake Time
As you can see, I’m quite pre-emptive with what will feature in my Hump Day High 5, but unfortunately I got it very much wrong this time which is a disappointment as Footloose is my favourite film, ever, and I was really excited to see it live on stage. I just found this production a little too OTT and it was really confusing having the main cast as the band as well. Don’t even get me started on what they’ve done to Willard! Anyway, this milkshake I grabbed from Five Guys before the show was delicious! The thing I like about FG is that they don’t charge for any extras, so this peanut butter AND chocolate milkshake cost the same whether I’d just gone for the 1 flavour, plus that whipped cream too!
David Duchovny @ Union Chapel
Back in January The Boyf celebrated his birthday. Me, being the best girlfriend ever, treated him to tickets to see Agent Mulder himself, because apparently he sings too! I was mainly excited to finally get to visit Union Chapel. It is a seriously beautiful venue and I can’t wait to revisit.
Breakfast Club Hackney Wick
The Breakfast Club has opened a new joint in Hackney Wick. They celebrated with 2 ‘soft launch weekends’, offering 50% off the total bill, plus the £5 for each ticket came off the bill too as a deposit. It’s a fab new location, right by the canal. With deck chairs out the front, it’s the perfect spot for a few cheeky cocktails in the summer. You can read my full post here.
Drinks in the sun
This weekend just gone, London was blessed with glorious sunshine. The Bro & I took this opportunity to have ourselves a picnic in the Olympic Park in Stratford. We stuffed our faces with cheesy crisps, caramel biscuits, chocolate cake, and washed it all down with some sweet fruity ciders. It’s back to rain again now, but here’s hoping the sunshine graces us with its presence again very soon.
See what I got up to last week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5 moments from the past 7 days?
