Ahoy, and welcome to this week’s Hump Day High 5!
The Joy Formidable @ Oval Space
I’m trying to make more of an effort to use my Jukely account so I was super delighted to see passes for The Joy Formidable pop up on the site. They’re one of the bands I always manage to catch the live online footage of at festivals, but to finally see them with my very own eyes was amazing! You can read an article I wrote on Jukely for Bloggeration, and you can also get £10 off your first month by using code JUKECE1.

On Friday night we managed to get ALL of Bangarang into one room. Seriously though, this NEVER happens! We even face timed Charlie on her travels and made her cry by singing Hero by Mariah Carey. I’ve had a bit of a tough time as late, but it felt oh-so good to cry from laughter and just be in these mega-babes’ company again. I love you, awesome nerds!
Brunch with the Bro
My weekend plans didn’t quite happen, so instead The Bro & I headed to The Diner in Spitalfields for brunch. I was craving waffles and ice cream, but they didn’t have any so I instead went for the French toast, which was DIVINE! When then walked ALL THE WAY to Islington and grabbed a quick drink before I headed home to finish off my curry from the night before. Perfect end to the weekend.
X-Posure @ Barfly
Keeping true to my Jukely word, I grabbed tickets for another gig this week. This time it was Man Of Moon at Barfly in Camden. These guys have cropped up a few times in my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify. These guys were great but for me support act Dead Buttons really stole the show. I was planning to catch them again last night in Brixton but instead I’m writing this from my sick bed *sad face*.
Internet Friends Are The Best!
So yesterday I received some very special mail by means of a care package all the way from Germany. Maike and I have followed each other on Twitter for a few years now, ever since I first posted about my jaw operation. She’d recently been following Amy’s updates and so wanted to send me a little something to cheer me up a bit and let me know she was thinking of me. Inside the package was chocolates, sweets and the most Captain worthy nautical bracelet. The internet is a bloody marvellous place and I’ve met (although not physically) some truly wonderful people.
See what I got up to last week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5 moments from the past 7 days?
