Ahoy, and welcome to this week’s Hump Day High 5, featuring 5 happy things from the past 7 days!
A few weeks ago I was approached by Bethia from Satellite PR who after reading my post on my life changing jaw op, wanted to invite me along to Giorgia’s event. Giorgia has psoriasis, a skin condition which is very painful and uncomfortable for the sufferer. She’s teamed up with Exorex to launch her #IAmBeautiful campaign. It was such an inspiring evening and I’ll have a full post with more information very soon.
Thursday was the day I had been dreading; Amy’s funeral. Nothing can prepare you for saying goodbye to a best friend, especially at such a young age. Of course it was a difficult and heartbreaking day, but it was also lovely to hear some beautiful tributes from her family. Afterwards, a couple of us went and played some crazy golf, giving Amy a very fitting send off. I know she was laughing hilariously down on us.
Adam and the Ants
For Christmas I bought my Mum a ticket to see Adam Ant play Brixton. Adam and the Ants played the whole of their album Kings of the Wild Frontier, with some extra hits at the end. It was such a great show with Adam giving a great performance with so much energy, 36 years after the album was first released!
I managed to grab 2 sets of passes to each day of Field Day festival through Jukely (use code JUKECE1 for £10 off your first month!) for James & I this weekend just gone. I had so much fun last year that I knew I just HAD to go again this year. We weren’t quite so lucky with the weather this year, but it did give me the chance to wear my new wellies from Shoe Zone. I’ll have a full post coming soon which’ll include all 16 bands and artists I managed to catch over the weekend.
There was a lovely mass to celebrate Amy’s life on Saturday. I had been asked to write my own tribute which was read out by my dear friend Jackie, who done a superb job! Part of my tribute featured a little challenge for everyone. Amy was the queen of taking big cheesy selfies, so I set everyone the task to take the most Amy worthy selfie, either on their own, or with someone close by. Extra points to anyone who managed to photo bomb someone else’s! It was such a lovely evening of sharing Amy memories and listening to the choir sing her favourite songs.
See what I got up to last week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5 moments from the past 7 days?
