Ahoy! Here’s what I’ve been up to the last 7 days.
Ab Fab Quiz Night
I tagged along with Charlie and Ashley to The Book Club‘s Ab Fab Quiz Night. This was no normal quiz night as our hosts for the evening, ‘Eddie’ and ‘Patsy’ were up to all kinds of mischief with their added Ab Fabstacle Course which involved activities such as; me being blind folded and doing poor Ashley’s makeup, smearing my lips with ALL the lipstick and running around the room trying to kiss as many people in a limited amount of time, and us dressing up Charlie for the catwalk finale. At the end of the night, the points were all counted up and somehow, WE WON!!! It was such a fun and crazy night with some even more fun and crazy company. Thanks girls!!
Booker T @ Brooklyn Bowl
A few weeks ago I posted a photo I took of Brooklyn Bowl, stating it was one of my favourite live music venues in London. I then received a comment on said photo from Brooklyn Bowl themselves inviting me to pick a gig of my choice to attend for free as a little treat for saying nice things about them. I chose to see the legendary Booker T who put on a fantastic show.
Glen Matlock @ Brooklyn Bowl
We were back at Brooklyn Bowl the following night to see original Sex Pistol, Glen Matlock. Now, this was advertised as a 40th anniversary show of punk, which it didn’t quite turn out to be. Glen and his band did play some punk songs, like God Save The Queen, but in a more rockabilly style. I still really love this style of music, but when you’ve gotten yourself all geared up for some thrashing punk, it’s a little deflating for it to be more of a tame affair. That being said, I still really enjoyed myself and it was great to see another legend live. We even got in a game of bowling!
Sunday was Wimbledon day! My plans to watch the match out in the sunshine on a big screen somewhere didn’t quite happen. Instead I ended up watching it alone, at home on my laptop, but I treated myself to a bottle of prosecco. It was a great match and I am so happy Andy Murray won. He’s given me reason to be proud to be British again.
Right now, I am in Berlin with James and the boys – lads on tour!! We flew over early yesterday morning so we’ve already had 1 day of exploring. We visited the Holocaust memorial, been to Check Point Charlie and seen the TV tower. Today we’re expecting a lot of rain so have got some museums and galleries lined up. Make sure you’re following on Instagram as I’ll be posting photos during our trip.
See what I got up to last week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5 moments from the past 7 days?
