Back in May, we had a little weekend trip to Amsterdam. This was the perfect chance for me to wear my new dress!
I’m a BIG fan of Alexa Chung. She could wear a bin bag and still look good, but that’s just my opinion. When the news about her collaboration with Marks & Spencer was first announced, I started saving the pennies, though I knew this collection would be cheaper and more accessible to me compared to her collections for AG Jeans and Madewell. When we finally got to see the collection I fell in love with the patterned dress that has been seen on literally every blogger (and is now in the sale for just £20!). Instead of ordering online, I thought it best to go in store to try on as I wasn’t too sure with M&S’s sizing. Unfortunately they didn’t have the dress I originally wanted in my size so I tried on this polka dot one (in the sale now for just £18!!) instead to give myself an idea of whether a size 8 was for me.
It was instant love as I looked in the mirror! The flirty cut of the skirt, the unique tie bow, the cute sleeves with a slight puff – I loved it all! This dress was also cheaper than the patterned one and was made from a much thinner material which made it perfect to wear on it’s own in summer or easy to layer up in winter. This is exactly what I did as it was a bit chillier than expected in Amsterdam. I gave this pretty dress the tomboy treatment with comfy Converse and a hoodie/leather jacket combo, still keeping a girly element with a white bow headband.
We had a great day wandering around Amsterdam, and I even got a very special photo in memory of Amy.
Check back soon for more snapshots of our weekend away in Amsterdam!
