Well, what a week! It’s no secret that I’ve been struggling recently but I finally got an appointment with a really good doctor who has given me some time off work and prescribed me some meds, which I’m really having a tough time with at the moment.
ANYWAY, here’s some good things from the last 7 days!
Red Hook @ Fiddler’s Elbow
Last Wednesday James & the Red Hook boys played a gig at the Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden. They played a great set, though I’m a little biased, so you should probably check them out next time for yourself!
The Beatles: Eight Days A Week
My brother treated me to a night at the cinema to see Ron Howard’s latest documentary on The Beatles touring years. It was great to see some fresh new footage and hear about that Fab Four’s life on the road. If you do go to see the documentary, make sure you stay after the credits as they show the full 30 minute set from their show at Shea Stadium in 1965, but if you don’t manage to catch it in cinemas, fear not as it’s being released on DVD on the 18th November – perfect Birthday/Christmas present for a certain someone *hinthint*.
Friday night was Bangarang night, plus an extra few guests, and it was perfect timing. I’d had a really tough week and had just been prescribed my first lot of medication for my mental health, but some wise words from these absolute KWEENS was just what I needed.
I took James to my hometown of Luton so he could finally meet Roxy, as well as meeting 3 more furry friends. He was in his element. It was also fab to see my hometown friends and catch-up over pizza and 90’s guilty pleasures.

I recently signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime and was really happy to find Jersey Boys on there. I’m a big fan of Frankie Valli so I had a lot of fun singing along to all the hits in my highest pitched screechy tone. If you’ve not been to see the west end production yet, then I’d highly recommend it!
See what I got up to last week.
What have been your #HumpDayHigh5 moments from the past 7 days?
