Hump Day High 5

Hump Day High 5!

It’s been a slightly quieter week compared to the last couple, but here are my favourite 5 moments from the past 7 days.

Soul Sister

My wonderful Parisian Soul Sister (we’re basically twins, though she’s the prettier, cooler one) Beryl came to stay over the weekend. We watched Halloweeny films on Friday night, and on Sunday I took her to my favourite local breakfast spot, Egg & Crockery, before taking a lovely autumn walk through Valentine’s Park, where we witnessed a man kiss a pigeon and we got chased by a squirrel.

Eat First

I was sent a £30 voucher to give Eat First a try. They have a different selection of ready to eat, and ready to heat meals every day, plus sides, desserts, snacks and drinks, including bottles of prosecco and wine. I got 2 mains, a flourless chocolate cake, a chocolate chip cookie, 2 bags of crisps and 2 beers, plus the £1.95 delivery cost, all for £30.05, which I think is a pretty good deal especially as it all tasted so good! I’ll have a full review up on the blog very soon, but until then you can use code CHARLEY10 for £5 off your first 2 orders.

Van Morrison @ The O2

I managed to score some pretty cheap tickets to see Van Morrison play The O2 as part of the Blues Festival. It’d been a while since I’d been to a seated concert, but it was great to sit back and listen to Van the man play some blues. He was also supported by legendary guitarist Jeff Beck. It was a lovely chilled evening.

Pizza Union

Beryl & I went for cheap, tasty pizzas at Pizza Union in Shoreditch on Monday. Pizza Union is great as their pizzas cost only £5-6.50 and taste delicious too! We had a final catch-up before saying goodbye until one of us is in the other’s city next.

Happy (Late) Birthday Baby Bro!

Last night I had my brother over to celebrate his birthday (2 weeks late) with James. We got him a chocolate Star Wars cake, presented him with his present and then we all settled down with pizza and introduced James to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s such a fantastically weird film. I love it!

So, that was my week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5’s?

Check out last week’s post.
