Last week I was invited to a Christmas jumper craft workshop with John Lewis. We each got to choose our own jumper from their Christmas range which we would get to personalise on the night and keep forever. I decided to go for a black jumper with white stars, as it’s not strictly Christmas so it’ll get some extra wear throughout autumn/winter.
We were presented with a glass of champagne as we arrived and settled on the comfy sofas in a very festive looking room. Once everyone was there, the jumpers were handed out and we made our way into the ‘workstation’. In here there were 2 tables set up; 1 for Jumpers and 1 for Stockings. Each table was loaded with scissors, felt, fabrics, buttons, glue, ribbon and string. I took my seat at the Jumper table and got to work with personalising my jumper.
Zoe, AKA Ladybird Likes, was on hand to help out with our crafting and to give us tips and ideas. I got influenced by her own Christmas jumper creation and decided to add some elbow pads in the shape of stars. I also added some glittery gold string to make my star look like it was shooting through the black sky. I’m not much of a crafter so kept it nice and simple, mainly through fear of ruining my jumper!

I took my finished Christmassy creation with me to Southport for the annual tree decorating at my Aunty and Uncle’s. Before we headed over to get stuck into baubles and tinsel, I took some outfit photos on the beach along the promenade. I’ve gone for a size 10 which fits me perfectly! I love that it can be dressed up or down. Perfect for the Christmas work party, or for snuggling up at home opening presents with the family. Everything we used to personalise our jumpers, the buttons, ribbons, fabric, string and glue, etc., can also be found at John Lewis, so why not have a go with jazzing up your own jumper just in time for Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 16th December!! * I was given this Christmas jumper for free, but rest assured, all words and opinions are my own 🙂
