Hump Day High 5

Hump Day High 5!

Goodness, it’s finally Wednesday! It’s my last week at my current workplace before I leave on Friday and start my new job a week today! So, here’s what I’ve been up to over the past 7 days.

A Royal Visit

Princess Anne Visits Cygnet Hospital Beckton

Last Thursday at work we had a very special visitor. None other than Princess Anne! The Queen’s daughter is a patron of the College for Occupational Therapists and as I work in a mental health hospital (well until next week!) she was the perfect person to come and give a little talk as well as meet our therapy team and some of the patients. I work in the admin office so we didn’t get to actually meet her but it was all very exciting watching her arrive from the windows upstairs.

Katie Brennan’s Quarter Life Crisis

Katie Brennan's Quarter Life Crisis Cabaret Show

If you don’t know of Katie Brennan, then you’re missing out on such an inspiring babe of a woman! She brought her Quarter Life Crisis cabaret show to Brasserie Zedel for 1 last hurrah (though I’m still hoping she’ll do it again in the not too distant future!). It’s such a fun and clever show that’ll make you laugh and cry, and laugh some more.

Sunday

Victoria Sponge Cake

On Sunday I was invited over to James’s grandparent’s to celebrate his grandad’s birthday. It was an afternoon/evening filled with lots of food, including plenty of scrumptious dessert options, as well as the Telegraph’s Sunday quiz.

CAKE!

Paul French Patisserie Caramel Tart Cake

Monday night Nuraan & I headed to West London for some live music (more on that below), but beforehand we had a catch-up over quiche and cake. You just can’t beat some yummy pastry goodies.

Tim Burgess @ Elgar Room

Royal Albert Hall London Live Music Venue Independent Tim Burgess The Charlatans

So, back to that live music. To celebrate Independent Venue week, the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted an intimate evening with The Charlatan’s Tim Burgess. This is a lovely little venue and the sound is great in there too! It was also great to get back on my Jukley game. You can use code JUKECE1 for £10 off your first month. Excuse the shoddy photo. There was no photography allowed at this particular gig so you’ll have to make do with my phone photo.

So, that was my week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5’s?

Check out last week’s post.
