I finally moved all of the rest of my stuff into the new flat last night, but we’ve still no internet so apologies for the shoddy photos that I’ve not been able to edit properly! Anyhu, here’s what I’ve been up to over the past 7 days!
2 Gigs, 1 Night
About half a year ago, I started to get really bad anxiety, suffering with panic attacks regularly. This led to me not wanting to go out as much and cancelling lots of my gig plans. Fast forward through tearful appointments with the Doctor, a couple of therapy sessions and medication prescriptions, to Wednesday evening when I managed to get myself to not 1 but 2 gigs in 1 night! James’s band, Red Hook, were playing at the Fiddler’s Elbow close to Chalk Farm station. It turned out Sleigh Bells were playing the same night at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, and Jukely had a last-minute pass available. So I grabbed it and caught the first half of Sleigh Bells before legging it up the road to catch James & the boys. It’s so weird to think that just a few months ago, there was no way I’d have been able to do 2 gigs in 1 night. Look at me now!
You Say You Want A Revolution?
On Friday I realised that an exhibition at the V&A Museum was finishing on Sunday, so James & I made some last minute, after work plans. After a quick bite to eat, we headed into the V&A to see the Records and Rebels 1966-1970 collection. We both thoroughly enjoyed it! We were each given a headset which played music from that era as we made our way around the exhibit space which was fab! As I said previously, the exhibition finished on Sunday, but you can still get stuck into this Spotify playlist.
If you’re following me on Instagram, then you’ll probably have seen that the Bangarang girls and I spent the weekend in Bucharest (check out #Bucharang!). We wandered around the pretty, crumbling streets of the Old Town and gorged on lots of amazingly cheap food and drink. I’ll have a full post on the blog soon, so keep your eyes peeled! For now, you can check out Erica’s post.
Heads Up, These Girls Are Awesome!
We’d all had an early rise on Saturday for our morning flight, so we opted to stay in that evening at our apartment, picking up a couple of bottles of prosecco from the supermarket. I’d brought my tablet along with me, so we spent a good amount of hours playing Heads Up, crying with laughter until we had stitches in our tummies and it was the best night, ever! Boy, do I love these crazy chicks ❤
Last night I FINALLY moved the rest of my stuff into the new flat. Now comes the ‘fun’ part – deciding where everything goes!! I’ve got my own little eBay corner in our massive living room, so keep an eye out for lots more items being added over the next couple of weeks. I have too much stuff, so help a gal out and give them new homes please!
So, that was my week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5’s?
Check out last week’s post.
