This past weekend I had my friend Kev visiting. After having a little tour of my new area from Erica, I decided to recreate it for Kev. This was the perfect opportunity to wear my new top from Apricot!
Sleeves are going to be a big trend for SS17. You’ve probably already spotted lots of statement sleeves in the shops and across fashion blogs. Some of the Bangarang girls & I were discussing our love for the bell sleeve trend, but we realised just how inconvenient they are. This season is very much the ‘go big or don’t bother’ motto. But, the bigger the sleeves the more material there is to get in the way. The sleeves on this top are a wide bell shape, but they’re ¾ length, so they don’t dip into food or bunch up under my forearms when I’m trying to write/type.
The peplum cut of this top is also very flattering, especially when you’re wearing jeans that are too tight and you have a muffin top spilling over your waist band (yes, I am that girl!). My squidgy middle is my most hated part of my body, but with this top, I don’t need to worry about it. Unless I wear it on a super windy day when Storm Stella is making her way across London and the soft, flimsy material is blown up to reveal my stomach! Anyway, I love the top. It’s going to be perfect for those hot summer days (when the wind is not howling) as it’s loose and made from a light material. FYI I’m wearing a size 8.
I decided to wear this top with these light grey tight jeans as I didn’t want my outfit to be too dark with navy or black bottoms and I didn’t want to take away from the pretty flowers with patterned trousers. I’ve kept the look simple with my trusty navy Converse
Apricot have lots of new pretty pieces being added in time for SS17. They’re also selling some items specifically to raise money for Ovacome. Have you bought anything from Apricot recently? Let me know in the comments below 😊
* I was sent this top for free through Type the Hype, but rest assured, all words and opinions are my own 🙂
Pin it for later!
