Hump Day High 5

Hump Day High 5!

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and managed to have some much deserved time off. This week’s #HumpDayHigh5 was particularly difficult to whittle down to just 5 things from the past 7 days, but I managed it, just!

A Lovely Day Off

I had Thursday booked off work to show James around my new area, so I’ve had an extra-long weekend! We took a sunny walk through Penge and over to Crystal Palace Park, where I introduced James to the dinosaurs and sphinx’s. We then grabbed some pub grub at The Bridge House where we ate some absolutely delicious satay chicken burgers before heading home for a nap. The night ended with a screening of Rogue One in the living room.

Peepshake

We were up early Good Friday for breakfast at The Diner in Spitalfields. The main reason for our early morning visit was to get our hands on their exclusive milkshakes; The Peepshake. You may remember seeing it in my recent review. It was basically a milkshake in an Easter egg topped with yummy peeping marshmallows. As you can imagine, I was in heaven!

Dugstock

After stuffing our faces at The Diner, we headed back down to South London for a pop punk festival put on by Umlaut Records at the New Cross Inn. A big thanks to Erica for the Dugstock tickets. The boys & I caught some great acts. Personal favourites were Triple Sundae (pictured above) and Strange Planes. I’m looking forward to catching them in London again very soon.

Easter Egg Hunt Winner

Saturday was spent at James’s Grandparents. They’d set up an egg hunt in the garden, so of course I got stuck in and won! We spent the rest of the evening eating, drinking, playing Cards Against Humanity (yes, with his grandparents!!) and having a good old sing song!

Twelfth Night

My 5 day weekend came to a spectacular end with a performance of Twelfth Night at the National Theatre. I’m a big (mahoosive) fan of Tamsin Greig and have seen her in multiple theatre shows. In this Shakespeare classic she plays a female version of Malvolio (or Malvolia in this instance). Tamsin was also joined by fellow Green Wing actor Oliver Chris and Smack the Pony’s Doon Mackichan for some stellar comedic performances!

So, that was my week. What have been your #HumpDayHigh5’s?

Check out last week’s post.
