We all know I love The Breakfast Club so imagine my delight at the news they were opening up at a new location even closer to home! To celebrate, they put on 2 ‘soft launch weekends’ also offering 50% off the bill to anyone that paid £5 a ticket. This £5 pp was a deposit so would also come off the bill at the end. Who was I to pass up an opportunity like this?! I stupidly left my camera on ALL night. As it was outta juice, I had to borrow me bro’s phone to take these photos. Heartbreaking, I know!
We had a booking for 12:30pm but were running a bit lost (mainly because we got a bit lost) so I rang ahead to let them know. They were really cool about it and said it was fine. When we finally made it, we were asked if we’d like to take the window seats. Of course I said hell yeah! This Breakfast Club is located right by the canal so we had lovely views of all the boats going along. Later on in our visit another member of the BC staff told us these were his favourite seats in the place. The sun was shining, brilliantly, so this called for a pitcher of Pimms whilst we tried to decide just what we wanted to eat!
I’d been craving pancakes for quite a while now, so when I spotted the Ham So Eggcited with layers of fluffy pancakes, shredded ham and cheddar cheese, all topped with a fried egg and drizzled with maple syrup, I couldn’t resist. I always feel weird ordering savoury pancakes/waffles with sweet maple syrup, but so far I’ve never regretted a single dish. My brother was a little sceptical to dip his pancakes and bacon into his mini tumbler of maple syrup, but once he took the plunge his eyes lit up as he exclaimed ‘oh sweet Jesus!’. Sweet & savoury mixed together is always a good idea. Don’t snuff it until you’ve tried it folks!
As my brother sipped on his first ever Pimms (for serious!) he ordered the full American breakfast with pancakes, bacon, sausage, seasoned potatoes and maple syrup. It was also supposed to come with a fried egg but he doesn’t like eggs (can’t believe we’re related!) so the staff member who took our order suggested a bowl of extra potatoes (not in the photo) instead. I don’t know how, but my bro ate all of this. Every. Single. Bit. He then complained the whole way to Westfield of tight jeans…
I will definitely be visiting this new Breakfast Club on a regular basis! The location is fab, especially now the sun has decided to grace us with its presence. The staff are also amazing, so friendly and just generally lovely human beings. Get yourself over there, grab a deck chair outside, and a cocktail (or 5!) and just chill as you watch the canal boats go by.
