The 1st of December is tomorrow, and to get us into the Christmas spirit, MoreThan invited a couple of us cat mumma bloggers to hang out at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium and make our kitties a Catvent calendar. It’s actually really easy, and the guys at Talented Talkers have a handy little guide
Whilst we got to work, we drank the cutest hot drinks. I definitely recommend the peppermint hot chocolate. As well as getting to play with all the kitties in the cafe, we were also treated to a festive afternoon tea. The snowflake biscuits with lemon icing were definitely my favourite, and those brownies were super gooey and very moreish.
The decor inside Lady Dinah’s is amazing. There are pillars wrapped in rope for the cats to climb up, bridges up above for them to walk across, and plenty of hidey holes for them to sleep in. I loved the Alice in Wonderland theme too, with a giant Mad Hatters hat tunnel and stairs going down into a rabbit hole. I’d love to have the space at home for a massive wheel for Ringo. He’d have loads of fun!
Back to making that catvent calendar. When it comes to cutting your strips ready to make the tubes, I’d recommend measuring them a centimetre longer so as to allow some extra space for overlapping when you curl them round and staple together. You should also make sure the cat treats you plan to put inside will fit. You could even make your tubes different sizes. Unfortunately, Ringo is a naughty, sneaky kitty and has basically ruined mine and James’ creation so I can’t show you our finished piece. Despite this, Ringo will still be getting a special treat each day.
I’d love to see your own catvent calendar creations! Why not get creative and try and make different shapes.
*I was invited to Lady Dinah’s, and given the supplies and treats to make a catvent calendar for free, but rest assured, all words and opinions are my own 🙂
