December was a bit of a quiet month for gigs but I’m hoping to make up for my lack of live music in 2017!
Johnny Cash Roadshow @ Southport Theatre & Convention Centre
The 1st weekend of December is always spent with my family up at Southport where we help my Aunty & Uncle put up their MAHOOSIVE Christmas tree along with my cousins and their kids. It just so happened the Johnny Cash Roadshow was rolling into town that weekend too, so my brother booked us tickets. It was a lovely evening with Clive John & Amanda Stone, AKA Johnny Cash & June Carter who took us through some of Cash’s biggest hits as well as some of his less known songs, including a couple which he had written but had been performed/released by other artists.
Red Hook @ Surya
This was my 7th time seeing The Boyf’s, Red Hook band in 2016. This time they played in the basement room of Surya, a little rock bar close to Kings Cross. A friend of mine came along and he was really impressed, especially with Kieran, the bass player.
Yellowcard @ Brooklyn Bowl
For my birthday, James booked us tickets to Yellowcard’s last ever show in Europe. It was a night filled with so many emotions; I was so happy to finally get the chance to see these guys, but at the same time so sad it would be the last ever time. We also found us a Milly at the gig so we had someone else to sing, dance and cry with. It was also great to catch Josh Weller’s band, The Kenneths, as support.
Gigs marked with a * are those which I got passes for through Jukely. You can get £10 off your first month by using my special code: JUKECE1
Did you manage to make it to any of these gigs? Or maybe you saw someone else. I’d love to hear in the comments below!
