Events marked with ** I was invited along to for free, but rest assured all words & opinions are my own 🙂
February was a pretty busy month for live music and theatre. Here’s what I got up to!
Bowie Experience @ Hackney Empire**
I was invited along to catch this amazing Bowie tribute show through Love Pop Ups London. You can read my full review here, but basically I loved it and even went to go watch it again when it played a couple of weeks later in Kent. They play all over the country, so you’re bound to find them performing at a venue near you!
Tusks @ Omeara*
Sofar Sounds @ Overlock Arts**
I’ve been meaning to get myself to a Sofar Sounds gig, so was chuffed to be invited to a special evening in collaboration with Firestone. Sofar Sounds put on secret gigs in unique places, like cafes, galleries and sometimes even people’s living rooms. We were treated to live performances from Welsh singer-songwriter John Nicholas, R&B songstress Autumn Sharif, and cheeky chappy AKA George.
Come From Away @ Phoenix Theatre**
A Slight Ache & The Dumb Waiter @ The Harold Pinter Theatre
Bowie Experience @ The Orchard Theatre
Johnny Cash Night @ Brixton Blues Kitchen
This evening turned out to be a big disappointment. My brother & I had booked our tickets a month or so earlier, and had gotten ourselves all excited for it, but when we got there it was clear they had oversold as it was so packed. We ended up waiting in the small crowded room for the live music to start for over an hour before giving up and going home instead. Shame.
Gigs marked with a * are those which I got passes for through Jukely. You can get £10 off your first month by using my special code: JUKECE1
Did you manage to make it to any of these gigs? Or maybe you saw someone else. I’d love to hear in the comments below!
