I’ve always been put off going to the Sea life Centre in London by the crowds, especially the swarms of children. I like to get a good proper look at all the fish, and don’t want to have to be polite, or be an adult having to stand back and let the kids have all the fun. Well, did you know, Sea life actually have a monthly adults only night? Here’s what it entails.
For £29 you get entry into the Sea Life Centre after hours, plus a glass of bubbly on arrival. Visiting later is great as it’s a lot less busy and there are no kids, but it does have the disadvantage of no penguins as they go to sleep at 3pm, and so their area is unfortunately closed. Fret not though, as you still get to see all the other exhibits, including the sharks & jellyfish.
The standard adult entrance fee when bought online is £27 (£30 when bought on the day), so you are essentially paying an extra £2 for a glass of prosecco on a childless evening, without any penguins. Is it worth it? Well it all depends on how bothered you are by crowds and kids. I do think there could be some added extras to this night, like maybe a demonstration or some talks. I only noticed 1 instance, around the big shark tank, where a member of staff jumped on the microphone and gave us some fun facts about the sharp toothed fish. A prosecco refill wouldn’t go amiss either!
If I’d have booked this myself, I think I still would’ve felt it was money well spent as I feel I enjoyed it much more with no kids and less crowds. It was lovely to just stroll round and not feel rushed, or get annoyed at not being able to get a proper look at the turtles. If you’re looking for a unique date night, I’d highly recommend!
