I’m a big fan of Time Out, and an even bigger fan of freebies, so when I heard the 2 would be colliding, I knew I had to get in on the action! Time Out are always my go-to for food recommendations around London. I’ll always given them a search for places to eat in particular areas I’ve planned to visit that week. Their new Time Out More Card gets you freebies at hundreds of restaurants & cafes all over London for just £29.99 a year, though at the moment they’ve a great deal of 2 extra months free! That’s the equivalent of £2.14 a month. I gave the More Card a go, using it at a couple of places this week.
First up was Franco Manca on Tuesday night. I’d just been to a book launch at a gallery in Bermondsey with Nuraan, and we were craving pizza. Thankfully Franco’s have restaurants all over the city, and it looks as though the More Card can be used at all of them. Coincidentally, there was one just a couple of doors down from the gallery, so off we went. There’s no need to perbook with the More Card, just rock up to any participating restaurant/cafe. At Franco Manca’s, the Time Out More Card entitles the cardholder up to 2 free drinks. You can choose from a no logo beer or cider, Tenute Normanno’s Organic wine in red or white, or any soft drink. This turned out to be a great deal as I’ve already more than got my months worth from just one use.
My second use came on Friday night. I was heading to Canterbury straight after work, but had just enough time to grab a bite to eat at Victoria Station. I logged into my Time Out More account and opened the map to see what deals were available nearby. Tortilla was the perfect choice as it’s quickly made and can even be taken away, should I need to run for my train. The deal isn’t quite as good as Franco’s, but who am I to turn down free guacamole?! I saved myself just 80p by adding a dollop of my favourite green stuff to my burrito, but every penny counts, right?
Some people might not find the card to be such a great deal, but if you’re out and about quite a bit, like me, it’ll come in very handy. Sure, you get a whole 50% off with a Tastecard, but the card costs more, and you end up having to spend more to save more. I also wasn’t a fan of having to book beforehand. With the Time Out More Card, you’re paying less and spending less to reap the rewards. I love that it can be used on a full dining experience with a sit down meal, or it can be flashed to the guys at the kiosk making your burrito. There’s no need to scan, or enter codes, it’s super easy to use. From just 2 uses I’d save £8.70 and spent less than £20.
Even better news, you can get 20% your own Time Out More Card when you use code TIMEOUTLOCALS, but hurry, as this code expires 30th June 2018!
